This rare mannequin is one of three that I recently aquired from the owner of a Toowoomba Millinery shop that was established around 1930.
She stands approximately 53 cm tall and is hand finished, with a similar look to one of the others but not identical. All are hollow and made of what seems to be terra cotta.
As can be seen in the photos she is very cool looking and on her own asymmetric plinth. All three have some wear and damage through some 90 years of use but this one is the worst with wear to the plinth, a chunk out of the neck and tip of her nose and shoulders, and some unrestored hairline cracks on the top off her head that someone has put sticky tape over. Im confident that these faults can be repaired if required. All are sold as is.
Nevertheless as you can see she still displays very well and can be viewed at My Mother Had One of Those on a sunday morning.
I have included a photo of one of the other mannequins (Blondie- who has a bit of a nordic look) for you, to be listed for sale separately.
