This pretty little sterling silver (Birmingham c1901) souvenir teaspoon is from the collection of a Brisbane traveller who toured the world around 1910. It bears the South African coat of arms on the finial and Victoria Road Sea Point engraved in the bowl along with a mountainous coastal scene. Interesting also considering that it was manufactured in England during the time of the Boer War (1899 - 1902) From the internet...."Sea Point is a suburb of Cape Town and is situated on a narrow stretch of land between Cape Town's well known Lion's Head to the south-east and the Atlantic Ocean to the north-west." "The scenic route from Hout Bay to Sea point along Victoria Road is always an adventure. There are various viewing points with breath taking sea views." The spoon measures approximately 11cm long and weighs approximately 18 grams. May be collected from My Mother's at Old Petrie Town on a sunday morning, delivered in the Brisbane area by arrangement, or posted. Buyers from outside Australia are welcome, however please contact us before purchase in order to discuss shipping matters.
