This lovely old tray is of very good quality as would be expected from Walker and Hall. It has date marks for 1909 and measures approximately 62cm long and is quite heavy. It is in good condition apart from some age-related plate wear (refer lower right of photo 1), but has not been engraved. The pen has been included in the photo to assist in gauging the size of the tray. Walker and Hall "The business was established in Sheffield in 1845 by George Walker. It was subsequently joined by Henry Hall and became in 1853 Walker & Hall. The factory was at Howard Street, Sheffield, while showrooms were opened in London. Branches were opened in Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow, etc, Melbourne and Adelaide (Australia). Walker & Hall was converted into a limited liability company in 1920 under the style Walker & Hall Ltd and combined in 1963 under the British Silverware Ltd with Mappin & Webb and Elkington & Co." This item can be collected from My Mother's at Old Petrie Town sunday morning market or delivered in Brisbane area by arrangement.
